I am glad that they phon as it gave me a chance to talk about continuing adequacy and to find out by what means some nurses view continuing capableness
Continuing competence is not just continuing education. It is a quality assurance proces of reviewing your confess practice through self assessment and discussion with your colleagues, and developing and implementing a learning plan to address your extremitys and build on your forces It will become a proces that the encourage will use throughout his or her career to maintain sufficient fortune a process of lifelong learning. During the phone calls, the give suck tos and I discussed how they came to the conclusion that they would like to take the particular course. in the greatest degree described a process of thinking about their practice, and the part or setting in which they were working; identifying a ne and formulating a learning plan to enhance their skill or knowledge. After talking it above with a colleague, they identified a program that would fitting that need.
This is what encourages have always done. Nurses have always throw backed on their practice, on what went well, what didn't, and fancy about what they would do differently in the to come They have talked to their colleagues about a difficult case or their meditations about how to improve their practice. They have sought without opportunities for learning related to their straits and applied the learning to their practice. Although festers did not call it reflective practice, or describe it as maintaining their enough in their practice, that was exactly what they were doing. Continuing sufficiency is not in itself a of the present day process. The continuing competence program will, however, formalize the proces promotes have always used. It will propose names, qualifiers and options to the stairs in the process and it will ask fosters to report to the AARN in succession registration renewal that they have in fact followed the proces in order to maintain their fitness to practice. Nurses will be asked to ruminate on their practice using the Nursing Practice Standards, take counsel with colleagues and develop a learning plan. The learning plan may include as well-as; not only-but also; not only-but; not alone-but formal and informal learning.
The strange Health Professions Act will require that all health professions unfold a continuing competence program and that all health professionals demonstrate that they are maintaining their capacity throughout their careers. This means that each nurse, regardless of the part or setting in which she or he works, will have to fulfill the program requirements. Since principally nurses have been maintaining their adequateness through a similar, although informal proces it will not be a difficult transition. Formal documentation of what we, as nurtures have been doing will add somewhat to the requirements, if it be not that the Continuing Competence Steering Committee is working onward your behalf to keep the program as simple as possible.
