The communications coordinator and the office assistant will be working from their to one's homes from June 24 to tribe 30, 1999. The office hours will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. Nurse Celebrating pampers dinner, May 1 1999

This celebration of the past, not absent and future of the profession began with a awful history of nursing slide presentation by the agency of Janet Ross Kerr. The Heritage of Service Award recipients Lillian Douglass and Sheila have affection for acceptance speeches were filmed by way of Access TV. Guest speaker AARN President-Elect Louise Roger furnished an intriguing perspective on the ne for RN to become part of the information age. Thank you to everyone who attended the celebration and especially to those who had tabletop displays.

Nurse of the Month



Recently retired, Sheila Maxwell has contributed to nursing athwart the past 10 years as clinic supervisor for the nursing and reception staff of the 14 Medicentres in Edmonton.

After obtaining her BScN extent at the University of Alberta, she worked in public health in Edmonton and Toronto before taking time to raise her children. In 1982 she complet the nursing refresher program at the University of Alberta Hospital, after which she accepted a staff nourish at the breast position with Medicentres. Soon after she became head feed then in 1990 accepted the position of Edmonton clinic supervisor.

Sheila has been an innovator and has continually sought to bring novel procedures to the clinics to improve care of patients. She has been recognized by way of her staff as an thoroughly good supervisor and advocate.

Sheila was the first chairperson of the former AARN interest collection Alberta Clinic and Office supply with nourishments Association (ACONA). Through the 10 years of operation, she arranged numerous educational seminars, worked forward committees to write and revise constitutions, and attended provincial and chapter meetings.

Sheila was involved in seminary and community leagues as her children grew She and her husband provided presentations with the Canadian Anglican Marriage affair for 10 years, and she serv in succession the National Executive.

Her colleagues and friends cry up Sheila's many talents and hard work and fill out their best wishes as she begins a recent life chapter.
